Head of Marketing 

An exciting start-up business in professional sports and entertainment are looking for a Head of Marketing.

This company represents a new era for boxing entertainment and is setting new standards at every level of the sport. The brand sits in between professional boxing and the entertainment world aiming to create a brand that connects with youth culture whilst also designing a transparent form of boxing intended to give chances in the sport

They are also one of the world's fastest-growing boxing promotions and the exclusive boxing promoter for UK television powerhouse Sky Sports. 

The Head of Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing an effective marketing campaign to support the business through this period of growth. We are looking for a creative experienced, proven marketing professional, to help push and develop our brand in a competitive market. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

●      Responsible for the growth of the brand and the management of the brand team, including design, copywriting, social media and execution of all marketing campaigns.  ​

●      Plan, manage and deliver strategic, creative, and effective campaigns to successfully achieve Boxxer

●      Provide strategic vision for the brand’s content, live events & experiences, marketing, and brand communication throughout all aspects of the audience funnel.

●      Own the end-to-end management of all marketing campaigns, with the KPIs being to grow Boxxer’s digital communications and touchpoints.

●      Own and implement the internal marketing plan – working with senior level, social, PR, partners and Broadcasters.

●      To ensure the brand stays relevant and at the forefront of creativity for its audience and fanbase.

●      Lead the brand’s Editorial, Creative and Production Teams to align with all Boxxer marketing campaigns.  ​

●      Manage campaigns to maximise ticket revenues and promote events nationally.

●      Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships and promote collaborative working across the brand and with external partners when needed. 

●      Strong creative writing skills, creative development skills and delivery skills. 

●      Strong willed and the ability to manage large stakeholders, not being phased with time or budget restrictions. 

●      Lead and manage all contract negotiations with broadcast partners. 

●      Develop and maintain effective relationships with Boxing colleagues, talent, broadcast partners, fan media and other key stakeholders.

●      Provide effective leadership in all areas of the business. This is a marketing role but you’ll have sight of every area and be expected to help at times. 

●      Manage, champion, and grow Boxxers Media’s digital communications and touchpoints – making sure they remain technically cutting edge, with up-to-date content and help drive engagement.

●      Ensure management and development of sales databases while ensuring GDPR compliance

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

●      Experienced marketer and brand builder.

●      Strong data analysis and reporting skills that will help influence your next marketing campaign. 

●      Leadership experience and the ability to ‘get shit done’ having managed major marketing events under pressure before.

●      Strong understanding of the sports broadcast, boxing and media markets with demonstrable experience.

●      A strategic approach, with a view firmly set on optimising channels for delivery.

●      Solid planning and organisational skills, with an eye for detail, whilst maintaining a high-level view of what is important to the brand. 

●      An understanding of how key communication channels operate and work together.

●      Experience of leading, developing, and motivating a team in a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.

●      Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships at the highest levels across an array of teams and partners.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

 

●      Excellent organisation, project management and copywriting skills

●      Strong digital knowledge across websites, newsletters, marketing automation and social media

●      Thirst for knowledge and learning, self-starter, happy to take initiative

●      Strong Microsoft Office and particularly PowerPoint skills

●      Ability to create and amend files through Photoshop / Illustrator (Good but not essential)

●      Salesforce, Pardot, WordPress knowledge useful

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

●      Adobe CS and Canva experience

●      Social media marketing including LinkedIn, Twitter

●      Event management software experience

●      Google Analytics

●      Data-driven mindset

●      Email marketing and remarketing

●      Experience in event planning 

●      Comfortable negotiating with vendors, contractors and agencies

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

●      Devise integrated marketing campaigns

●      End-to-end campaign management from idea, to executions, measurement and reporting

●      Data Segmentation

●      Marketing Automation

●      Create promotional materials

●      Social media

●      Monthly stat reporting

●      Maintain a clean database

●      Monitor inbound enquiries and collaborate with the ticketing team

  1. £50-£60K depending on experience

  2. Start date ASAP

  3. Currently remote working. Brand new office being set up in W10 where you’ll be expected to work from a minimum of 3 times a week. Will also be expected to travel on & around fight weeks. Typically two weeks a month.

  4. 4-5 years of experience is desirable
